Color Analysis
I used to get The Color Analysis Queen’s TikToks on my FYP all the time, but rediscovered color analysis services when listening to an episode of the podcast Binchtopia. Color analysis (also known as personal color analysis, seasonal color analysis and skin-tone matching) is used to find what colors suit you best for clothing, makeup and even jewelry. I’ve scrolled r/coloranalysis on Reddit for way too long before bed, and may have to shell out for a professional consultation myself.

bklyn.newspapers.com
I was looking up the history of one of my favorite parks and came across this website where you can peruse Brooklyn newspapers from 1826–1999. This page from the August 16, 1942 issue of the Brooklyn Eagle about the Willoughby and Fort Greene Houses is written in a hilarious tone, like when they say “boys and girls” will “gravitate towards” the Fort Green houses “by the laws of attraction.” I highly recommend keyword searching your neighborhood and having yourself a little history lesson!
The Clairo Shade Party
Another local topic: the Clairo Shade Party. Where do I begin? If we’re on the same kind of Twitter (X?), you’ve seen the countless “this is lowkey Clairo shade” tweets. A meme that has gone through many iterations and transformations, Clairo shade has become about posting any musician, celebrity, or really anything that is not Clairo. To add to the lore, a group of people threw a “Clairo shade” themed party, complete with a Clairo shade cake and someone falling through a skylight and having to get 43 stitches.
South Korean Dog… Influencers?
If you look at my Explore page, you would only see extremely well-groomed dogs from South Korea. @coton_jidi and @watch.mygae are some favorites. I know everyone is kind of obsessed with their pets these days, but this distressing article from The Wall Street Journal reporting plummeting birth rates alongside skyrocketing dog stroller sales is next level concerning.
pi.fyi
pi.fyi is an algorithm-free social networking site offshoot from the newsletter Perfectly Imperfect, where users can recommend anything like their current deli sandwich order to their favorite scene in a TV show. It’s a great place to discover new, unique things, which is something we lack these days, despite the overload of content and information online. Plus, it’s a very positive space. If I’m going to scroll, it feels better to scroll through the things people love!
