In “Scroll Dive,” a D1A team member grants us unfiltered access to the inner sanctum of their content consumption: their internet search history. Kick back, open a fresh tab and read on to hear why Camryn Wilneff, Creative Strategy Coordinator, has been obsessed with getting to the bottom of “summerween,” and her quest for the perfect bagel spot in LA.

Summerween

It seems like as soon as summer started, I was already seeing TikToks counting down the days to the holiday season. Since then, I’ve been inundated with “summerween” content showing off watermelon jack-o-lanterns, coffin-shaped ice cream sandwiches and spooky movie nights. I took a deep dive into the trend and learned that retailers are already on their Halloween game — Starbucks released their Pumpkin Spice Latte earlier than ever. Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited to bring out my cozy sweaters again, but I still want to enjoy the rest of the summer while it lasts.

Best bagels LA

Standing in line for 40 minutes for a bagel isn’t my ideal Saturday morning, but I’m still willing to make the sacrifice for the perfect bite (ideally with cream cheese and tomato). It’s hard to find the next best spot before it blows up on TikTok, so I like to do a quick Google search every so often to keep track of new restaurant openings. The next bagel on my list is Sweet Selma’s!

Is Barneys New York back?

I’ve been waiting for years to see “Barneys” and “comeback” in the same headline, so I was ecstatic when I saw this article in Vogue. Even though the iconic New York department store isn’t making a permanent return, Hourglass Cosmetics is bringing high fashion back into the space for five weeks at the OG Chelsea location. It seems like there’s a retail renaissance going on with brands like Abercrombie & Fitch and Von Dutch making an IRL comeback, so I’m hoping that the Barneys pop-up might stick.

Coco Gauff collabs

It’s been a big year for women’s sports, and ever since the Olympics, I’ve been having fun keeping up with Team USA’s female athletes. Tennis player Coco Gauff was competing for her second Grand Slam title at the U.S. Open, so I've been curious about what she’s been up to since getting back from Paris. In addition to earning her spot on a limited-edition Wheaties box, she launched her second New Balance tennis shoe and collabed with American Eagle on a special denim collection. It’s exciting to see so many brands finally celebrating the power and impact of women’s sports.

What are Sneex?

A few days ago, I watched this snippet of Spanx founder Sara Blakely announcing her latest venture — a sneaker and high heel hybrid — and had to check out more. Turns out that Sneex were designed to alleviate the major pain points of wearing a stiletto, but there’s a lot of chatter around their unique appearance (which is not unlike those wedge sneakers from 2012). Spanx was a trailblazer for the shapewear industry, so I’ll be keeping an eye out on Sneex to see if they take off.
