OG CD Disc Art
Recently while working on a personal project, I was looking up CDs of different albums and fell down a wormhole obsessing over CD disc art. I just really love the detail people put into making unique CDs for themselves, especially back in the prime era of CDs. Any time I came across one, whether it was on Instagram or Twitter/X, I would save it to my Camera Roll. One of my favorites was this Saint Etienne’s “Smash The System” album, which I can’t wait to find physically.
Mastering Steaks
I swear, I liked a steak preparation video once and ever since then, my Explore page basically became steak heaven. Every day, I get caught up watching different steak meal preps, which usually just have me drooling at my screen. It lowkey put me in my cooking bag, though. I started really taking pride in mastering making different steaks. If you’re ever in Chicago and craving a steak, I got you (maybe).
NTS Radio
Honestly, I’ve become a sucker for NTS Radio. Really I got caught up on one of their IG sponsored ads featuring a radio station hosted by My Bloody Valentine, and from that, I’ve just been heavily on the app. I love all the different stations and mixes. One of my favorites is this Lovers Rock dive that has the singers of that time hosting and sharing stories. It feels like a fresher, different way for me to discover music.
Depop Deep Dives
Ever since I ripped my favorite track jacket, I’ve been on a nonstop hunt for a new one. I scour Depop every day, searching for the perfect replacement. It’s a great resource, even though now I feel like I have a Depop problem. Sometimes I’m on there just low-balling and bartering out of boredom, but I know it’s worth it (not really).
Sprite Chill
I love soda, and Sprite’s new Sprite Chill got me hooked. I would see people online mixing it into cocktails/mocktails, doing video reviews, making Reddit threads, all that. Any time I see it in a store, I grab it in insane amounts. A few months back, they took it away, which had me on a quest all over, but soon I found out the promotion was done. Fun fact though, I tweeted about it a bunch of times during that period (thinking of the nature of our job), and they brought it back, so I like to think I made that happen.
