Agency Marketing & Editorial Director - New York
New York City
Want to win awards like it's your job? It could be.
Day One Agency—Campaign Magazine’s Agency of the Year and PRovoke Media’s Creative Agency of the Year—is hiring! We’re looking for a Marketing & Editorial Director to join our rising team. The right candidate will be ambitious, hard-working, and dedicated to telling stories that stop people in their scroll. You’ll take pride in your work, show initiative, and go the extra mile to ensure that our clients are serviced in the best way possible. We’re looking for self-starters with creative agency experience who are willing to work collaboratively and quickly with our squad. Excellent organizational skills are imperative. In return, you’ll be in a rewarding learning environment with a great opportunity to grow and further your knowledge and career.
Our company culture is at the core of everything we do. It defines our vibe. It’s what makes every day, Day one. We offer a highly collaborative environment (even as we work from a distance in this new remote world) where smart and hyper-passionate people come together to solve creative communications challenges. It’s no secret; we work hard, but only on the things we love. From the day this agency was created, we vowed to only work on projects that fire us up and that’s still true. It’s how we make projects like Chipotle’s multi-award-winning Freeting campaign come to life.
We emphasize and value all of our relationships—they’re what powers us. Our colleagues, clients, and partners are the most important part of our business. So if you want to join a fast-growing, award-winning, creative team, we’d love to hear from you.
This position is full time and is only available in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, or Portland.
Responsibilities
Day One has built a reputation for impactful storytelling that drives, impacts, and earns cultural recognition for our brand partners. We developed an agency team that truly thinks audience and consumer first—we believe in ideas that can move the world by stopping it in it’s scroll. As we’ve grown, so too has the agency's recognition, most recently as Creative Agency of the Year (PRovoke Media), PR Agency of the Year (Campaign), and as one of the Fastest Growing Agencies (Adweek).
Looking ahead to 2023 and beyond, we want to centralize our own agency marketing, thought leadership/external communications and awards process with a new Marketing Director hire. The right candidate for the role will be someone who understands the agency marketing landscape and keeps tabs on the publications and award shows worth knowing about. This role will report directly into the Managing Director and work closely with the CEO on all owned Day One efforts. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape and shepherd how we show up and communicate as an agency and will work across teams in celebrating our work.
A central component to success in this role will be a desire to win. You’ll own the production process of award submissions across all client brands and work directly with the VPs and SVPs who manage the business to identify what programs and case studies are the right fit for submission. You’ll control a budget for bringing to life submissions and case study videos and in turn, collaborate with the leadership to showcase work on our site and in new business.
Beyond awards, you’ll collaborate with our editorial team on extending Day One Perspectives (our original creative commons and agency musings) to all Day One marketing and social channels. You’ll have the chance to influence our vision for what the agency stands for in bringing to life our Perspectives Quarterly, Trend Reports, and Panel discussions.
