The right candidate will be ambitious, hard-working, and dedicated to telling stories that stop people in their scroll. This position is full time and is only available in Los Angeles and New York City.
Our team is rapidly growing, so you should be comfortable (and flourish) in a deeply dynamic environment. We are looking for a team member with a solid foundation and proven track record of success in editing social videos, branded content, and event recap/sizzles. This creative will serve a vital role at Day One.
As we look at the opportunity to grow and evolve our bi-coastal studio and production team, we’re looking for an Editor or Sr. Editor to evolve our creative abilities and drive forward our team vision of setting a high bar for creative in motion.
The role of the Editor/Sr. Editor at Day One is an important piece of the studio. They will work across some of the biggest brands at the agency and have opportunities to see their work showcased at events, conferences, on social, web and beyond. They will work with a team of both full time and freelance designers, animators, motion graphics artists and more.
Responsibilities
Be able to edit for multiple outlets - Tiktok, IG Reels, sizzle videos, etc - and understand the nuance between them
Wear multiple hats, when necessary to make sure every project is completed at a high level
Work with input from Creative Directors and senior creatives while also bringing your own eye and creative ideas to the table
Through exposure and opportunity, learn how to grow in the realm of conceptual thought, creativity, and ideation
Hold yourself accountable to the highest quality standards and always review all work before submitting for feedback/approval
Provide thoughtful creative thinking to every project that you work on
Requirements
3-6 years of experience working as an Editor
Strong understanding of concepts, story, and how they’re visualized in motion
Experience making strong event recap videos, sizzles and branded content
Experience in motion graphics
Good verbal and written communication skills
Collaborative spirit and a strong desire for constant improvement
Must have a strong background in Premiere Pro and After Effects
Major Bonus If You
You have a strong background in design + motion graphics
You’re an expert in color grading
You have on-set experience
You have a experience in stop motion — software, setup and execution

The Company is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base compensation range for this role is $65,000-$125,000 and this position is eligible for benefits that include medical insurance (health, dental, and vision), retirement plan, paid time off, paid parental leave, new business and employee referral bonuses, etc. Please note that the compensation information provided is a good faith estimate for NYC and CA based hires only and is provided pursuant to the New York City and California Pay Transparency Law.
