We’re looking for a Director of Talent Development to join our growing Human Resources team. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about people and will be instrumental in establishing and executing professional and leadership development programs, DE&I strategy, and programming to enhance company culture. You’ll take pride in your work, show initiative, and go the extra mile. The Talent Development Director will report to our VP of Human Resources and play a vital role in establishing learning and development strategies which not only support employee development, but also align with our overall business goals and build upon agency culture. We’re looking for self-starters with creative agency experience who are willing to work collaboratively and quickly with our squad. Excellent organizational skills are imperative. This position is full time and only available in New York.

The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial minded, detail oriented, and a creative problem solver by nature. This position acts as a point person for L&D and DE&I across all Day One offices.

  • Learning & Development
    • Work closely with business leaders to design, curate, and execute engaging employee development programs which are tied to Day One business strategy

    • Design and deliver leadership development programs across all levels to increase leadership effectiveness and support succession planning

    • Curate and maintain a new hire onboarding kit that showcases Day One’s culture and sets new hires up for success in their roles

    • Identify, vet, and onboard external vendors / offerings to supplement internal Leadership Academy

    • Develop and deploy agency mentorship programs including summer internships and apprenticeships

    • Manage complete execution of virtual and on/off-site trainings from sending calendar invites to employees to securing catering and training facilities for off-site trainings Partner with internal customers and key stakeholders to diagnose organizational needs and lead the design, development, and delivery of effective interventions aimed at closing identified performance gaps across all levels of the organization

    • Create and track appropriate evaluation tools, metrics and statistics on the results and organizational impact of programs and practices

  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
    • Design, execute and measure organization’s DE&I strategy

    • HR Lead for Belong@D1A, helping to schedule and lead internal meetings, recommending programming ideas, fostering committee communication, and pushing Belong@D1A ideas forward

    • Work alongside Belong@D1A to ensure recommended programming is approved and executed within budget

    • Drive leadership awareness, commitment and accountability for the employee experience and diversity action plans across the business

    • Promote and drive adoption of inclusive practices, establish key initiatives, and communicate insights & recommendations to Executive Leadership

    • Establish mechanisms to measure, track, and report on diversity metrics


  • 9-10 years of experience Human Resources/Organizational Development

  • Passion for people, organization, and excitement to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment

  • Self-motivated, organized and reliable

  • Great people and communication skills

  • Leadership and problem-solving skills

  • Proven experience in a creative environment: Marketing/PR/Advertising agency or start-up operations

  • Exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoy contributing to the creation of new systems, programs, and company culture
