The right candidate will be ambitious, hard-working, and dedicated to telling stories that stop people in their scroll. This position is full time and is only available in New York City.

The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial minded, detail oriented, and a creative problem solver by nature. This position acts as a point person for Human Resources across all Day One offices.

  • Be a trusted advisor and provide expertise and counseling for managers/employees on issues or questions
  • Manage and respond to HR inquiries from dedicated channels (direct inquiries, Slack, etc.)
  • Maintain Performance Management platform and manage performance review and goal setting for the agency
  • Monitor overall agency environment and employee engagement in partnership with the VP, Human Resources and Senior Leadership to retain and engage top talent
  • Define new and improve policies and procedures to ensure compliance in adherence with any company, legal or regulatory laws, and advise on best practices
  • Contribute to agency DE&I programming, driving leadership awareness, commitment and accountability for the employee experience and diversity action plans across the business
  • Promote and drive adoption of inclusive practices, establish key initiatives, and communicate insights & recommendations to Agency Leadership
  • Facilitate New Employee Orientation sessions
  • Draft and own internal HR-related communications
  • Responsible for the data and integrity of company personnel and payroll records
  • Manage agency payroll function and benefits program and respond to related employee questions and ensure compliance
  • Assist in developing and maintaining company organizational charts
  • Manage time tracking (and entry) for non-exempt employees
  • Maintain agency PTO process
  • Work closely with Operations on employee onboarding and offboarding
  • Partner with Recruiting team to lean in on efforts or support as needed
  • Deliver training as appropriate
  • Additional ad-hoc HR projects, reporting and support


  • 7-10 years of experience Human Resources
  • Knowledge of Federal/NY/CA/IL employment laws and regulations
  • Exhibits an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoys contributing to the creation of new systems, programs, and company culture
  • Passion for people and excitement to collaborate and thrive in a fast-paced team environment
  • Proactive, self-motivated, organized and reliable
  • Exceptional people and communication skills
  • Trusted advisor with impeccable relationship building skills who can maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Leadership, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience in a creative/agency environment
