Business Affairs Manager - NY

This position is full time and is only available in LA or NYC.

Responsibilities

You’ll help bring the best out of the team and help drive growth in a fast paced agency with amazing colleagues and clients. Critical and creative thinking, organization, cross team communication, legal acumen, and attention to detail are key to this dynamic position.

  • Collaborate with producers, account teams, business operations, technology, and external legal counsel on the business and legal elements of creative content production and distribution

  • Help draft, negotiate, review, and file production related contracts, SOWs (statements of work), talent / location releases, production filming permits, etc.

  • Monitor and ensure the team is following all rules/regulations related to usage rights, clearances / releases, talent and influencer contract terms (including SAG-AFTRA requirements, etc.) and other contractual obligations. Should also have a strong understanding of related FTC rules, regulations, and guidelines.

  • Consult and collaborate regularly with agency’s external legal counsel and agency senior leadership on business / legal matters

  • Work with clients and third-party production vendors, agencies, and talent-management companies to negotiate and lock deals

  • Manage vendor set-up and payment processing in conjunction with the finance department. Review and approve invoices as necessary.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in the agency and / or legal industry, ideally in agency/media/entertainment related business affairs management

  • Experience with talent, entertainment, and media contract drafting and negotiations

  • Experience with media licenses, talent / location releases, and production permitting

  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of agency, client, and external counsel personnel

  • Proficiency and efficiency managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience and attention to detail in ensuring contracts are created and filed correctly

  • Law degree or MBA
