This position is full time and available in Los Angeles or New York.

Responsibilities

The Creative Director (Video) will lead creative and provide support and governance to our video and content teams while shepherding clients toward their best work. Video asks will be primarily short form content—Tiktoks, IG reels, YouTube shorts, etc.

Collaboration is paramount at Day One, and we’ll look to our CD (Video) to be a true partner, acting as the key brand creative liaison with client partners and stakeholders across all departments—listening to their needs, working together to solve problems with internal and external solutions, providing creative counsel and ultimately overseeing the creative product and delivery. This role will report into the Group Creative Director, with oversight from the Managing Director.

  • Motivate and lead the internal content team of creators, strategists, and storytellers to think differently and guide and inspire them to elevate their work.

  • Ideate and oversee video content from concept through to final delivery

  • Be an expert storyteller - be fluent in narrative architecture with specific understanding of formats across different platforms

  • Be fluent in social media, TikTok, Internet content & trends

  • Direct an idea in motion - think big picture in real time, with storyboards and budgets in mind

  • Detailed knowledge of equipment and rigs for shooting high quality content in both video and still form

  • Strong understanding of video editing software, to effectively communicate with editors and teach junior team members

  • Partner with the production team to review and refine briefs, budgets, timelines and staffing plans, refining the content team and paths across the team.

  • Support in the hiring and career development of the content team, helping to mentor our existing staff and assessing where we need to evolve as we grow.

  • Be comfortable executing, personally ideating and developing breakthrough concepts and setting an example for the team.

Requirements

  • 6-10 Years video creative direction experience

  • Comfort working cross discipline

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing and juggling multiple creatives

  • Comfortable with complex assignments and leading a diverse team
