Day One Agency—Campaign Magazine’s Agency of the Year and PRovoke Media’s Creative Agency of the Year—is hiring! We’re looking to add to our quickly-growing team with a self-motivated and deadline-oriented Account Executive/Senior Account Executive who will be instrumental in supporting our PR teams through day-to-day account assignments on our marquee global accounts.

The right candidate will be ambitious, hard-working, and dedicated to telling stories that stop people in their scroll. You’ll take pride in your work, show initiative, and go the extra mile to ensure that creativity breaks through and “earns it” for our clients. We’re looking for self-starters with creative agency experience who are willing to work collaboratively and quickly with our squad. Excellent organizational skills are imperative. This position is full time and is only available in New York City.

This person ideally has great follow up and closure, excellent writing skills, media pitching expertise and stellar people skills. This position is full time and reports to the Vice President.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Organizational, Tactical, and Communication Skills: Takes accountability for actions; Is solutions oriented and understands how to best prioritize tasks or assignments; Demonstrates a high level of organizational skills; Meets deadlines; Sees projects through to completion; Great attention to detail; Confidence and competency in reviewing team work product; Articulates ideas succinctly and is comfortable with public speaking and presentations

  • Client Relations: Key contributor or owner of projects and programs; Builds trust with client contact and teams; Professional demeanor; Able to analyze and contextualize information and begin to form strategic recommendations

  • Media Relations: Draft pitches; Pitches media, Manages media calls, review and edits briefing materials; Identifies appropriate media targets (with a large emphasis on digital media); Builds media relationships on behalf of the clients and agency; Owns media opportunities from start to finish

  • Excellent writing and editing skills: Able to write and edit materials and provide direction to ensure quality control

  • Account Management: Displays attention to detail across all team work product; reviews and finalizes materials; mentors AAE and Intern growth and development; leads programs as assigned

  • Work with peers to further the mission, goals and culture of the agency

Required:

  • Large brand experience working within the lifestyle, consumer, travel, and spirit media category

  • The ideal candidate has 3-4 years-experience in PR, marketing communications or media as well as have a college degree

  • Entrepreneurial-minded, deadline-oriented PR generalist

  • Strong work ethic, writing and oral communications skills

  • Media outreach experience


Candidates should demonstrate resourcefulness and a strong sense of teamwork and the ability to execute programs and a desire to learn and be a part of helping us grow. Because of the diversity of clients that the agency represents, the ideal candidate must be able to seamlessly transition (and be successful) supporting and delivering success across a wide range of assignments and client categories — including travel, financial services, lifestyle, consumer tech, B2B, fashion and beverage.
